  • Units carrying the SUPERCHANGER name, the gasketed line Tranter added in 1972
  • Plant supplied through the Sweden-based lines Tranter acquired in the 1990s

What can be arranged for Tranter units

  • Regasketing as a complete set, in a material matched to the duty
  • Dye penetrant inspection of every plate
  • Independent pressure testing of both circuits
Questions

Tranter heat exchanger questions

The pack has been tightened and is still weeping. What now?

Tightening a pack that is already leaking rarely holds, and each time it takes the pack closer to the dimension below which it cannot seal at all. At that point the gaskets need replacing as a set and the pack rebuilding to its correct dimension.

How long should the gaskets last?

Temperature and fluid drive gasket life far more than age does. On a hot or aggressive process duty they age quickly; the same gasket on mild heating water lasts a long time. Condition when the pack is opened tells you more than the fitting date.

Can the plates be reused?

Provided they pass inspection. Every plate is checked for cracks and pinholes, and any that fail are replaced rather than refitted.
